Anaka had spent a reasonable amount of time away from home today. Well, she didn't usually go straight home after school, but today it was almost five and she still wasn't home. Though her mother had gotten better at paying attention to what her children did, she still would care if Ana was home. And her father...well, Ana was good at ignoring people if she wanted to. Her parents were always so busy with ghost hunting and monster hunting, they didn't notice if Ana or Andrew were home late. And when Anaka decided to bring this to their attention, they got angry, so she was walking on egg shells with her parents right now. She loved them to death, but they were so clueless to their childrens lives. She just wanted her parents to see that they were going to lose their children. She couldn't remember the last time she spoek to them. She wasn't even sure if they knew what her interests were anymore.
Anaka pulled her headphones off, sitting them down around her neck as she walked into the bookstore. She didn't bother shutting her music off, and she was listening to it so loud that anyone near her could hear it. Get Up and Dance by Faberdrive was the song. Another one of her favourite Canadian bands. She walked past the front counter, offering a smile to the cashier and made her way to the sci-fi/fanatsy aisle of the store. She looked through what was there, taking her time. Some William Gibson, which was one of her favourite Sci-Fi authors...but she wasn't in the mood. Besides, she owned many of his works already. So she made her way to the comic section, picking up a few Manga's, a Spider-Man comic and a Buffy one. Then her final stop, the section that contained all the art books.
Anaka enjoyed drawing her own comics, but she was always looking to improve, so she figured a few art books could help. And while she was at it, might as well grab some on painting too. That was she could keep herself busy all weekend and wouldn't have to think about things that upset her. Ana picked up one of the art books, but she was already holding so much, that the rest of her books slipped from under her arm and went crashing to the ground. Ana sighed and placed the art book back on the self and looked down at the scattered books. "Why?", she asked them, like they could answer.

WE'RE HOPELESSLY BLISSFUL AND BLIND&& T O A L L W E A R EWE WANT IT ALL WITH NO SACRIFICE Sam was a nerd at heart. Everybody knew it deep down; they just decided to ignore it. Even Quinn hated when he spoke Navi
to her, and he was supposed to be very open with her. He was. She knew him best, of course, but there were sides of him that he kept a little buried to make things less uncomfortable for both of them. It wasn’t as if he wasn’t being himself with her. He was just being a slightly cooler version of himself. Regardless of what anyone wanted from him, he refused to give himself up entirely. Now, he was a nerd on his own time. Right now, he was supposed to be at Quinn’s, but he told her he was helping his mom move some furniture around. This was a lie, but how uncool would it be to have to tell your smoking hot girlfriend you were passing up the chance to hang out with her so you could visit a bookstore? That just wasn’t a conversation he ever wanted to have. She wouldn’t mind him lying so much if she ever found out where he really was. He just knew she wouldn’t look at him the same. It was actually a huge sacrifice he was making for Quinn, considering she didn’t care too much for his inner geek. His main goal was to find friends in McKinley, but this seemed to be a hopeless cause. Nobody here had the same interests or mindset as he did. It was tough to work with a bunch of people who were so unlike you. Showing up at the comic book store was both enjoyable, because he needed to pick up some new comic books, and convenient, because it was likely he’d find other people who liked comics in the comic book section. It stood to logic that this was maybe where he’d finally meet someone to really talk to. He entered the comic book section of the bookstore with every intention of finding either a friend or a really good comic book. However, when he saw it was entirely empty, he quickly gave up on that first part. He focused all of his energy into skimming through a few series to find one he liked. If it didn’t click with him, he would put it back. When he was done, he had the first segment of at least four different stories, which weren’t really heavy for him at all. He headed to the cash register, but as he was walking past the art section, some twist of fate made him turn his head. He watched as a blonde girl dropped everything she had. He couldn’t witness that and not do anything to help, so he switched directions and bent down to pick up her books before he ever even saw her face. The first thing he noticed was her selection in comics, to which he simply nodded in approval. They were the classics, after all. Then he noticed that she had a few art books, and that interested him. He stood up, huge smile on his face, and held them back out to her. ”I’m sorry to invade your space. I just figured you could use some help.” When she’d gotten them back, he went to extend his hand, then remembered it was too much for her to hold with two hands, let alone one. ”I’m Sam. Need some help with those?” His own books were practically no weight at all, and he felt like it was unnecessary for girls to physically strain themselves if they didn’t need to. He was perfectly capable of carrying her books for her, unless she was one of those feminist types. tagging anaka summers outfit outfitwords 618 lyrics we're all to blame by sum 41 notes mwahaha (: credits this was made by brooke ![/blockquote]

Anaka looked up in surprise when she saw hands picking up the books. She looked at the boy who held the books out to her. She took them from him with a smile. "Oh no, it's alright. And thank you.", she said. When he asked if she needed a bit of help she shrugged. "I suppose a little would nice. The art books are kind of heavy...", she said, looking at the ones she had placed on the shelf just after the rest of her books dropped. They were large and think. "If it's not too much trouble for you.", she added with a sweet smile. "I'm Anaka, by the way.", she told him, bowing her head a little, since she couldn't shake his hand or anything with her arms full. She had meant to go back to the comic section and grade a few more, but she had already accepted help from the boy, so she didn't want to go off and grab more and take advantage of his kindness. Ana held her books and comics close to her chest and pursed her lips. She didn't usually accept help from others. And when she refused, they usually figured her full of herself, like she didn't need their help. But mostly it was because she didn't want to trouble anyone.
"Um...so...uh...do you read?", she asked. Then she cringed. Stupid question, Anaka. Stupid. "No, I mean, comics. Do you read comics?", she asked. As far as Anaka knew, high school boys just didn't show up in book stores. They didn't like to read. That was the stereotype, wasn't it? It was always fun finding people who didn't fit stereotypes. Like a cheerleader who wasn't mean, or a jock that wasn't dumb. It was like a little game she played in her own mind as she went about her day. Maybe that was strange to do, but Anaka was strange. She didn't mind what people thought of her or what stereotype they lumped her into. They'd figure out eventually that Ana didn't fit there at all. Every single person was unique, and had their own thing. Drifting out of her thoughts and realizing that her music was still on, and playing rather loudly, she apologized to the boy. "Sorry about the, uh, music. I like a soundtrack to my life.", she laughed. The song playing was Ugly Girl by 100 Monkeys. The only song she knew from the band.

WE'RE HOPELESSLY BLISSFUL AND BLIND&& T O A L L W E A R EWE WANT IT ALL WITH NO SACRIFICE Sam handed the books over easily and swept a bit of his blonde hair from his eyes. He was there to help, after all. He nodded
his head as soon as she agreed that she needed help. He was the knight in shining armor in every scenario. He was basically only there to help. When some of her books were back in her hand, he continued to hold some of the others and stood up, also grabbing the art books from where she’d placed them on the shelf. ”Not too much trouble at all,” he said, offering her a charming smile. They stood there for a moment, holding pounds of books, and he couldn’t help but glance down at the books he was now holding. Art books, mostly. ”I’m gonna take a shot in the dark and guess most people call you Ana, right?” He raised an eyebrow and looked down at the books, not bothering with the fact that he probably looked very nosey right now. He shuffled through some of the books, and they made him smile pretty big. There were some pretty advanced books in there. When he looked back up at her, he was smirking. ”Are you any good at this stuff? I’ve always wanted to learn how to draw, but most of it has to come from natural talent, which I have none.” It wasn’t really relevant to anything, but he decided to share a little bit of himself anyway. After all, he was holding what some people would consider their life in his hands, so she deserved to at least know a little bit about him. Besides, he felt like he knew her already. That was what he came to the bookstore today for anyway: someone to really relate to. He couldn’t help but laugh out loud when she asked if he read. Sam, of course, knew exactly what she meant, but the wording was funny. He noticed her face when she realized what she said, and he shook his head. ”It’s fine, I know what you mean.” He remembered the comic books she’d grabbed and stopped in his tracks. ”Actually, follow me.” He turned right on his heel and headed toward the back of the store, right into the comic book section. He placed the books on a nearby table and started looking immediately for the first installment of all the original comics that he loved. As big of a nerd as Sam was, he liked to stick to good old Marvel. They never let him down. As he sorted through dozens of crap comics, he said, “I’ve been reading comics since I was eight years old. I still do sometimes, I just have to be a little more careful these days.” He didn’t want to sound shallow by saying he had a reputation to uphold, but it was the truth, and he wasn’t exactly going to lie the first three minutes of a new friendship. That wasn’t the kind of guy he was. After all, he wasn’t really so much worried what people said about him as he was worried about how worried Quinn would be. He knew his girlfriend, and she couldn’t have her arm candy being labeled a loser. He hadn’t even noticed the music until she mentioned it, but when she did, he stopped for a moment to just listen to it. His face was determined as he searched for the first edition of the plain old Spiderman comics, but it slowly broke into a grin as the song went on. ”Don’t even worry about it. This is actually really funny. I’m into that kinda stuff.”tagging anaka summers outfit outfitwords 607 lyrics we're all to blame by sum 41 notes i see a good friendship here xD credits this was made by brooke ![/blockquote]
