I KNOW TIME'S RUNNING OUT NOW
BUT WE'LL HOLD BACK THE SUN SOMEHOW

Putting the red pen down on his desk in his classroom, Will sighed and leaned back in his chair as he finished grading the vocabulary tests that he had given to his level two Spanish class only a few days ago. There were so many, and he wanted to get them all done before heading down to the choir room for glee rehearsal. Sectionals were coming up, and he wanted New Directions to make a good showing against the Warblers and the Hipsters. Thankfully this time he would be going with them, and they wouldn't have to worry about the competition stealing their songs again like last year. He had sacrificed so much for these kids the previous year, stepping down over the mattress incident was in his mind a brave and unselfish move. Only because the kids deserved their chance to perform and make an impression on people. He picked up the test papers, placed them in a file folder and put it into the section of his messenger bag for class-related material. Slinging the strap of his bag over his shoulder, he got up from the desk and walked out of the Spanish classroom en route to the rehearsal room.
The hallways were quiet, most likely everyone was either in extra help periods and extracurricular activities or at home keeping warm with the weather changing from warm to cold. His footsteps echoed against the hard floors of the corridor keeping a steady pace until he reached the door of the choir room, he was usually one of the last people to arrive. He turned the handle and opened the door to let himself inside, already noticing that many of the glee club members had already assembled.
"Hey guys," he said as he placed his bag on top of the piano and pulled out another file of sheet music. "If I'm a little late, I apologize because I was a little behind grading some tests for one of my classes. Anyway, as you know sectionals is coming up and we should start getting focused on what songs we're going to be doing at the competition - after all this is only the first step towards nationals. If we want to do well this time around, we've got to concentrate on the task at hand. I'm sure Vocal Adrenaline will be hard at work on what they're doing for their sectionals, so we've got to do the same. Now, any questions or comments before we start?"
