It was the end of Hallie’s first day here, and she didn’t really talk to anyone. The receptionist in the office was nice enough, told her where her first class was and even gave her a map. The day consisted of her trying to find all of her classes and being late to almost all of them. They will definitely remember me as a student now, the one that was late to the first class. She thought a bit amused. She didn’t understand why some of the student can find the classrooms without any problems; it was only her that did not understand the map. The more She walked around, the more lost she was.
“Where is the auditorium?” She said a bit irritated and looked at the map. The map was no help at all, she didn’t even know if she was holding it the right way. My brother was right, I should have came here a few days ago just to look where everything was! She thought very frustrated.
This is the first time Hallie has been in an American school, she had just arrived the summer before this semester; it was all very new to her. The nerves and excitement are all contained deep inside of her, and that’s half the problem. She always has trouble expressing her emotions; she always comes off as being very calm and very quiet. She walked through the hallways looking around; she wanted to audition for the New Directions glee club. Singing has been one of the only effective ways for her to express to someone how she felt; she also likes the feeling of performing to many people on stage.
If there was one thing she practiced, it was singing in English; if she couldn’t join the glee club here, then the plane trip here would be wasted or as far as she is concerned. She wanted to be a singer when she grows up and she sees America as the perfect place to start a music career, where she came from the Music Industry was going down the hill.
She looked at her watch, she only had so much time; she needed to get home and start preparing for the next day. Every teacher assigned something for the class to do, and she needed to do them before the next day. She wanted to at least audition for the glee club before getting to all that boring stuff. She had prepared a good song especially for the auditions and has been practicing ever since she was going to come to America. She had written the song for a friend that just broke up with her boyfriend, trying to comfort her and express that she is there for her. Her friend is still in Taiwan, but she figured that she would record a video and send it to her at home some time.
