TELL ME THAT YOU'VE GOT EVERYTHING YOU WANT
&& Y O U R B I R D C A N S I N G
BUT YOU DON'T GET ME, YOU DON'T GET ME
With Sectionals so close, Quinn was beginning to feel the pressure. They had suffered a heartbreaking loss last year and she didn’t want that to happen again. After everything that they had all been through, New Directions really deserved a win – and with a win would come the respect they also deserved. If Rachel had her way, the entire show would be hers and everyone else would swing and sway behind her as backup, but Quinn wasn’t about to let this year become The Rachel Berry show. Everyone in Glee Club was talented and deserved to have their talents showcased in the spotlight just as much as she did, though Quinn was sure Rachel probably wouldn’t agree. If she did, she would only be doing it so that she wasn’t completely loathed by everyone else, but even then the cheerleader was sure the girl wouldn’t actually mean it. It didn’t matter though, because she wouldn’t have a chance to argue. Quinn was sure that even Mr. Schue was getting sick of her trying to dominate every single big performance. In all honesty, Quinn sometimes felt jealous of the girl’s talent and the fact that she seemed so confident in herself, but that was one secret that she would take with her to the grave. Still, everyone else in the club was talented too, otherwise they wouldn’t have been there.
Quinn’s determination to win had her now sitting in the library, researching new songs online that she could try and propose to Mr. Schue during the next meeting. She had an entire theory about what they could do to win, and was sure that whatever the other clubs had up their sleeves would be easily beaten by her plan. The songs that Mr. Schue had proposed were good, but they weren’t very popular anymore and didn’t exactly appeal to some of the audience. In the end the audience wasn’t really part of the voting, but they had to at least enjoy the performances enough to clap loudly and tell the judges who they thought gave the best one. That was why the seventeen year old was looking up lyrics and music for some of the more popular new songs. Unfortunately, McKinley didn’t have a very large network available and since Quinn wasn’t the only one using a computer and the internet connection within the school, the process was moving along rather slowly. She was normally a patient person, and since she wasn’t in too much of a rush right now she didn’t mind that the pages were loading at a glacial pace, she wished they would go just a bit faster than they were. It was extremely hard to keep herself focused on her current project when nothing was loading. Judging by the speed of the computer, Quinn decided it probably wasn’t a good idea to try and print out anything at school, so as her pages loaded she copied their URLs to a new email document. Her backup plan was to look the songs up again when she was back at home with a stable, fast internet connection and a printer she didn’t have to share. It seemed pretty solid to her.
As she finished what she was doing, she closed her tabs and logged out of the computer. As soon as she got up someone had pounced onto her chair and she rolled her eyes in amusement, finding it funny that the guy had rushed to get the chair only to have to wait for the internet. Nerds like him were so clueless, especially since she was pretty sure he had just spent the last half an hour watching her and seeing how low her productivity level had been during her time on the thing. Shaking her head, she shouldered her bag and headed to the tables on the other side of the library, thinking maybe she could get a head start on some homework now that she’d found what she was looking for, for Glee. She wasn’t sure how well her proposal was going to go over, but she would never know if she didn’t try. For now, however, she needed to find a book about Psychology to be a source for her research paper.
